Meet your Provider

Mya Shaikh

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Provider Portrait

I know it takes trust to share personal parts of your life with a psychiatric provider, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is for you to feel heard, understand what I’m thinking, and know why I’m recommending a particular next step.

I am thorough by nature. I ask a lot of questions because symptoms rarely exist in isolation, and the details matter. I look at the full picture—including sleep, routines, relationships, family dynamics, school or work, sensory concerns, executive functioning, medical factors, and how symptoms are affecting everyday life.

My style is warm, conversational, straightforward, and collaborative. I explain my clinical reasoning, welcome questions, and want patients and families to feel actively involved in treatment. I’ll also challenge you when needed while making sure recommendations feel clear and practical.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults. For parents, I know it can be difficult to determine what may be “just a phase,” what needs more attention, and what the next step should be. My goal is to understand the person as a whole—not just a diagnosis or a single symptom.
